Kutztown Area School District Education Foundation Awards Mini-Grants for 2024-25

The Kutztown Area School District Education Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of mini-grants for the 2024-25 school year. Students from every building will benefit from the wide variety of projects submitted. A complete list of the plans by building is as follows:

Greenwich-Lenhartsville Elementary

  • Sensory Resources that provide stimulation for enhanced learning.

  • Reading Olympics – an annual county-wide competition that inspires reading-focused exchanges.

Kutztown Elementary

  • School Garden for understanding biology, ecology, and conservation.

  • Cooking – including culinary techniques, nutrition workshops, and meal planning.

  • Sensory Resources that provide stimulation for enhanced learning.

  • School Bank/School Store to provide opportunities for personal financial management using play money.

Kutztown Area Middle School

  • Graphic Novel Classroom Library – increased selection of novels from which students may choose.

  • Rewards for Encore Class Performance – Special rewards for commendable performance in encore classes each quarter.

Kutztown Area High School

  • Steamroller Art Festival - a new 2024-25 course in printmaking in preparation for a collaborative art event as part of a 2026 Sesquicentennial celebration.

  • Franklin Institute Trip – introduction to astrophysics in the Planetarium for physics students and a tour of the Amazing Machines as part of a culminating activity for the Hugo film analysis for senior English/Language Arts students

  • Government/Geography Trip to Washington, D.C. – Hands-on participation in the federal government policy-making process for AP Government students and an exploration of how language shapes our world for AP Human Geography students
