Teacher Mini-Grant Update: Custom Pillows

The pillow project involves Art Club students designing unique fabrics using a wax resist silk painting process that are then transformed into custom pillows. Each pillow tells a unique story through its design. Mr. Hoffman has been working with the Property Manager for Saucony Meadows to identify residents who would benefit from receiving handcrafted pillows. The students have developed questionnaires to help them tailor the pillows’ stories to the recipients. The students are excited to illustrate and craft the pillows by the end of the school year. The pillows, each one a custom keepsake, will be delivered as gifts to the residents in the fall. In addition to learning about fabrics and crafting, students will bring smiles to people they have not yet met.
