Thank you to our EITC donors!
The Kutztown Area School District Education Foundation is approved as a participant in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Under this program, approved recipients must use the funds to carry out innovative educational programs that are not already part of a district’s academic program.
Businesses that make contributions through the EITC program may be awarded tax credits to apply against their tax liability for the tax year in which the contribution was made. A business can earn tax credits equal to 75 percent of its contribution. That amount can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution if the business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years.
This year, through the generosity of East Penn Manufacturing, Weis Markets, and Truist Bank, we received $19,500 of tax credit dollars to spend on our STEAM Learning Hubs in each of our school buildings. Our students have access to high quality digital tools and are able to take ownership of design and production processes across the curricular areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts, mathematics, language arts, and research & design.
The range of Learning Hub projects incorporated high levels of student engagement, innovation & design, and tangible products. Collaboration, problem-solving, communication, and design thinking are expected to remain as pillars in each of our K-12 STEAM Learning Hubs through the future.
