USPS Releases Limited Edition Keith Haring Stamp
Keith Haring is a 1976 KAHS graduate and former Kutztown Area School District Education Foundation Distinguished Alumni.
Post Office Press Release:
KUTZTOWN, PA — Honoring the theme of love with universal symbols and imagery, the Postal Service has released the latest in its popular Love series stamps, featuring the work of iconic graphic artist Keith Haring.
The Love (2025) Forever stamp features an untitled 1985 drawing by Haring that includes two moving figures reaching toward a red heart. It was a theme Haring returned to throughout his career, making several variations, each in his signature style.
“The non-specificity of the figures allows a variety of people to see themselves in this stamp,” said Antonio Alcalá, an art director for USPS who selected Haring’s work for the stamp design. “Partners getting married, celebrating an anniversary, siblings sending each other a heartfelt greeting, or even party
planners setting a positive tone for their event.”
Intended to evoke feelings of warmth and playfulness, the release is perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day cards and can add sentiment and whimsy to letters, birthday or graduation cards, baby shower invitations or notes of thanks throughout the year.
Centered on a red heart with motion lines radiating toward two moving figures, Haring’s drawing suggests the figures are dancing in the presence of love. The joyful image allows the viewer to project their own meaning of love in the context of their choosing. The words “FOREVER” and “USA” are separated by a
dot and written in black.
The release is a continuation of the popular Love series introduced in 1973 and is now available at Post Office locations nationwide and online at the Postal Store at usps.com/shopstamps.
The Love (2025) stamps will be issued in panes of 20. Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
News of the stamps is being shared on social media with the hashtag #LoveStamps.

Standing inside the Kutztown Post Office on Friday morning, Karen DeLong smiled as she spoke.
She talked with wistful joy about how much her late brother probably would have really enjoyed being there. How he believed that both art and love were for
everyone, and that he would be so excited to see that message being shared.
She said he would have been proud to see that what she had just helped unveil moments before was such a superb reflection of his beliefs.
“It’s the perfect stamp,” DeLong said.
During a brief special ceremony, the U.S. Postal Service officially introduced its 2025 “Love Forever” stamp that features the iconic work of renown artist,
Kutztown native and DeLong’s brother, Keith Haring.
Haring, who passed away in 1990 at the age of 31, was an iconic fixture of the pop art scene of 1980s New York City. A pair of figures drawn in his signature outline
style adorn this year’s “Love Forever” stamp, pictured dancing with their arms raised below a beaming red heart.
The image is from an untitled work Haring created in 1985.
“It’s just the absolute perfect image to represent love,” DeLong said.
Bruno Facini, Kutztown’s postmaster, said being able to host the unveiling ceremony in Kutztown, where Haring grew up, was special.
“It’s pretty awesome,” he said. “It’s a big thing for Kutztown, for the community.”
Facini said the stamps — which cost 73 cents each and are sold in sheets of 20 — have already become a hot commodity.
“They’re actually going pretty quickly,” he said. “I’m planning on ordering more.”
DeLong wasn’t surprised by the stamp’s popularity.
“It shows that love is for everybody, and that’s the way it should be,” she said.
That message is exactly why Haring’s work was picked for this year’s stamp. Officials from the USPS said it honors the theme of love with universal symbols
and imagery while evoking feelings of warmth and playfulness.
“The non-specificity of the figures allows a variety of people to see themselves in this stamp,” Antonio Alcalá, an art director for USPS who selected Haring’s work
for the stamp design, said in a statement. “Partners getting married, celebrating an anniversary, siblings sending each other a heartfelt greeting, or even party
planners setting a positive tone for their event.”
The postal service has been releasing “Love” stamps each year since 1973, introducing them just in time to be stuck on the corners of Valentine’s Day cards or
other mail. This year’s versions can be purchased at local post offices or by visiting store.usps.com/store/home.
