2023 KASD STEAM Fair
We want to thank everyone who helped make the STEAM Fair a success on Friday, March 24, 2023. Members of the Ed Foundation, our School Board, administration, and community members commented on how much they enjoy seeing and experiencing some of the great things happening in KASD.
Students and their parents were treated to a MS Jazz Band performance led by Dustin Shirk, enjoyed button- and print-making run by Ben Hoffman and his art students, Hillary Heffner's Rubik's Cube challenge, and NHS math-themed crafts led by Sallie Sandler. Beth Patten's crew provided VR experiences, Mary Gruber shared technology activities happening in elementary school, Michael Aboulhouda demonstrated the power and creativity of his laser cutter, Gene Sweeney demonstrated fun ways to learn coding. In addition, we had displays set up by Kris Tuerk and Alia Emery.
Well over half of the stations were run by middle school students. From carrot flutes and magic pyramids to claymation, novel writing, and gasoline engines, students brought their unique ideas to life and shared their interests. Congratulate these students when you see them: Elijah Miller, Carrie Bosler-Weinmann, Daniel Hench, Finn Erdman, Preston Wood, Liam Miller, Ethan Herrlin and Caden Smith, Mason Erdman, Olivia Wright, Emma O'Neil, Calliope Price, Vinny Ilustre, Izzy Castano, Mason Myers, Masen Mathias, Chase Piergza, AJ Cambell, John Andrews, Jayda Rutherford, Andrew Neuenschwander, Owen Macfarlane, Ava Biro, Connor Christ, Tomas Hamm, Mary Hess, Sophia Witmer, Lilly Carter, Levi Keller, Will Ziegler, Georgia Kunkle, Izzy VanHorn, Cooper Fegely, and Rylee McAllister.
